This was no examination hall episode, but these girls, who were among the scores of school students who took part in a multi-city global event hosted by the World Records Biennale Foundation, seemed to value their work much more than anyone else did. And, mind you, this was no competitive event but more about participating in a global campaign to promote kindness and humanism, yet Kanimozhi and friends wanted to safeguard their imaginative ideas and creative output. “Kindness From Your Eyes” was the theme of the event and children summoned their imagination to portray a mind-boggling variety of acts of kindness. “Grandma is always on your side” was the title of Kanimozhi’s work in which she portrayed a loving moment between a grandmother and granddaughter. S. Jeevanandam from class VII, Jawahar HSS in Koodapakkam, took the abstract route, as he highlighted the value of blood donation and organ donation. A heart actually blossoming like a flower was at the centre of a series of surrounding acts of kindness.
