Fresh cases on Saturday pushed the UTs total cases tally to 1,14,847. The cumulative death toll has reached 1,723 after 3 people died of the disease in the last 24-hours.
The active cases tally has further dipped to 3562. The Puducherry headquarters received the highest 200 new Covid-19 cases, followed by Karaikal (31), Yanam (8) and Mahe (12).
Director of the Health and Family Welfare department, S Mohan Kumar said that 36,859 vaccine doses have been given to health workers and 22,769 frontline workers. At the same time, 2.90 lakh people in all age groups have been vaccinated till date.
The official said that 479 patients have also recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 1.09 lakhs. The Health Department tested 8,414 samples in the last 24-hours. UT recorded a test positivity rate (TPR) of 2.98%.
The recovery rate in the UT reached 95.40%, while the death rate was recorded at 1.50%.
