Puducherry, Oct 12 (PTI) Puducherry added 56 new cases to its COVID-19 tally, which climbed to 1,27,151 on Tuesday.The fresh cases were identified at the end of examination of 4,537 samples and they were spread over Puducherry 27, Karaikal 17 and Mahe 12.No new fatality was reported from any of the four regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam and the fatalities remained 1848.Director of the Health Department G Sriramulu said there were 617 active cases of whom 95 were in hospitals and the remaining 522 patients in home isolation.While 78 patients recovered and were discharged during last 24 hours the overall recoveries stood at 1,24,686.The Department of Health has tested so far 18.48 lakh samples and found 15.67 lakh out of them to be negative.The test positivity rate was 1.23 percent while fatality and recovery rates were 1.45 percent and 98.06 percent respectively.The Director said the department had administered 10,59.066 doses so far which comprised 7,08,229 first doses and remaining 3,50,837 second doses.
