No fresh COVID-19 cases, fatalities in Puducherry

Puducherry, Apr 15 (PTI) No fresh coronavirus cases and related fatalities were reported from the union territory of Puducherry in the last 24 hours, a senior Health department official said on Friday. The number of active cases stood at three, Director of Health G Sriramulu said in a release here. The Health department tested 28 samples in the last 24 hours ending 20 AM Friday and no infections. The three active cases reported in the last two days were in Karaikal and they were in home quarantine. All the three patients were medicos of a private medical college, the Director said. The Department has so far examined 22,31,649 samples and found 18,76,557 out of them to be negative, the Director said. The overall COVID-19 caseload remained at 1,65,77 and the recoveries stood at 1,63,812. With no fresh fatality being reported during the last 24 hours, the death toll remained at 1,962, Sriramulu said. The test positivity rate was zero while the fatality and recovery rates were 1.18 per cent and 98.81 per cent respectively, the Director said. The Department has so far administered 16,61,420 doses which comprised 9,60,589 first doses, 6,83,609 second and 17,222 booster doses, Sriramulu added. PTI Cor SS SS
