Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi and Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy have extended their greetings to the people on the occasion of Id-Ul-Fitr. In a release, the Chief Minister said that Ramzan promoted compassion, tolerance and universal brotherhood. “On this occasion, I extend my hearty greetings and best wishes to the Muslim brethren and the people of the Union Territory of Puducherry,” Ms. Bedi said. Anantharaman, former Minister P. Rajavelu and a host of other leaders greeted the people on the occasion of Ramzan. Referring to stray incidents of violence against minorities resulting in the disturbance of peace, the Chief Minister said: “We must invoke the teachings of the Prophet and adopt them and promote equality and brotherhood.”Revenue Minister M.O.H.F.
