Taken by surprise: Students being turned away by the security personnel at the Centac office after counselling for MBBS admission was postponed in Puducherry on Friday. | Photo Credit: T_Singaravelou more-in Parents and students kept trickling into the Centac office throughout the day on Friday, enquiring about the counselling dates, NRI seats, and merit list. “We have applied for medical seats under NRI quota for my daughter paying ?13,000. Now, they are telling us that the NRI seats are not available. How can that be possible when we have already applied paying hefty amount?” questioned a father on condition of anonymity. A student from Maharashtra came down to Puducherry just to enquire about the merit list. “Merit list for the other State candidates was not uploaded on the website. I wanted to get information on the list and the date of counselling,” said the student. The confusion has affected many candidates from outside the State. “We are worried. If the counselling is scheduled on Saturday afternoon, where do we get the DD to pay the fees?” questioned the parents who were at the Centac office on Friday.
