Swaminathan are peeved at the Speaker not granting them facilities . | Photo Credit: S_S_KUMAR more-in Three BJP leaders who were nominated as MLAs by the Centre have decided to take their fight against the ruling Congress to New Delhi. The MLAs, who have been denied facility in the Assembly after Speaker V. Vaithilingam refused to accept their appointment, will call on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday to formally complain against the Congress for their “non-cooperation.” V. Saminathan, K.G. Shankar and Selvaganapathy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were administered oath on the night of July 4 by Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi hours after the members approached the Speaker for their swearing-in. After taking oath, the members approached Speaker V. Vaithilingam for providing them with facilities inside the Assembly and other privileges enjoyed by the MLAs. The Speaker rejected their claim stating that he had not received any communication from any competent authority on their appointment. Parliamentary secretary to the Chief Minister K. Lakshminarayanan had filed a public interest litigation in the High Court challenging their appointment. Mr. Saminathan told reporters that they would meet Mr. Rajnath Singh and apprise him of the non-cooperation by the Congress. The BJP would request the Union Home Ministry to take serious note of the violation by the territorial administration. “Non-compliance to an order issued by the Ministry is a serious violation,” he said.
