1st viaduct soon at Anandnagar

Pune: The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) plans to raise the first viaduct segment on the Vanaz-Civil Court route next month. MahaMetro officials have said this plot can be utilized to built an information centre. Officials are confident 125 pillars will be ready by June this year.MahaMetro has already raised a viaduct segment on the Pimpri-Range Hills Metro route, near the Kharalwadi station.“We will now be launching the segment on Reach-2. The centre will disseminate information regarding the Metro to citizens and deal with their queries pertaining to the project. The foundations for nearly 15 pillars are ready, while work on four other pillars is underway.

Pune: The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) plans to raise the first viaduct segment on the Vanaz-Civil Court route next month. It will come up at the site reserved for the Anandnagar station.MahaMetro has started the civil work of constructing pillars and digging foundations on the route, that will extend to Civil Court in the first phase. The foundations for nearly 15 pillars are ready, while work on four other pillars is underway. Of the 15 completed foundations, Metro officials said five are along the river between Deccan Gymkhana and the Pune Municipal Corporation .Officials said that they plan to launch the first [viaduct] segment by the end of next month.The segments are being cast at the casting yard and will be launched in a phased manner from Anandnagar back towards the Vanaz Metro station.A total of 300 pillars have been planned between the Vanaz and Civil Court stations, of which 200 will be erected between Vanaz and Deccan Gymkhana. Officials are confident 125 pillars will be ready by June this year.MahaMetro has already raised a viaduct segment on the Pimpri-Range Hills Metro route, near the Kharalwadi station.“We will now be launching the segment on Reach-2. The locations have been identified for the launch of the segment near the Anandnagar station,” a MahaMetro official said.Space for info centreMahaMetro has approached the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), seeking space near Sarasbaug to set up an information centre. The PMPML owns a vacant plot near Sanas ground. MahaMetro officials have said this plot can be utilized to built an information centre. The centre will disseminate information regarding the Metro to citizens and deal with their queries pertaining to the project.
