Police said they seized Republican Panther and Maoist literature during the searches.The Vishrambaug police had registered two offences on January 4 and 8 against the KKM members, Republican Panther, a Mumbaibased cultural organization, and others including Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mewani and students’ leader Umar Khalid for making inflammatory statements in their speeches and programmes during the Elgar Parishad.Police claimed these statements contributed to the violence in Koregaon Bhima on January 1.
