Interested students, who have not been allotted any college, can fill up the preference form a second time following which a second merit list will be displayed on June 28.Sayyadshaha Parvin, professor at Moledina High school and Junior College said bifocal subjects are good for students who wish to go for both engineering or banking.“If a science student takes up bifocal subject, he will have a sounder base in technology which will help him crack the entrance and during his first year of engineering. Secondly, even commerce students will have an upper edge if they are looking for immediate job opportunities,” Parvin said. The subjects offered in the science stream for bifocal are electronics, computer science, scooter-motor cycle servicing, mechanical maintenance and others, while the subjects offered in commerce stream are banking, marketing and others. The bifocal subjects carry 200 marks whereas conventional subjects carry only 100 marks.
