PUNE: AirAsia flight services between Pune and Kolkata were hit on Wednesday and Thursday after two flights (I5598 and I5599) were delayed by five to six hours.On Wednesday, flight I5598 which was scheduled for 7.30pm from Kolkata took off at 2.16am on Thursday. Passengers said that they were notified of this delay of over six hours, after they had already reached the airport “There was no response from the airline for a long time. I received the information about the delay only after I had checked in. Right from 6pm until 2am, I was at the airport along with many other passengers, getting frustrated. For us, it was a delay of hours,” a passenger told TOI.“AirAsia India would like to confirm that flight I5598 from Kolkata to Pune was delayed by 6 hours due to a technical requirement. All affected guests were offered refreshments and constantly kept informed of the delay.” a spokesperson of the airline said in a statement.Thursday’s flight from Kolkata to Pune (I5599) was delayed by over five hours, according to the schedule. The flight’s scheduled take-off time was at 10.55pm on Thursday. “All delays will be recovered by tonight for normal operations from tomorrow,” a spokesperson said.“My Tonight’s (Thursday) flight from Pune to Kolkata has been delayed due to which I am suffering financial losses and family commitment. How will you justify this case? My family needs to reach home to attend after death rituals. Pl arrange alternate flight (sic),” Pradeep Pani tweeted.
