Duo held with 20kg marijuana in Pune

PUNE: The Pune crime branch recently arrested two men from Phursungi and seized 20kg marijuana and a car collectively worth Rs 5.20 lakh.Police identified the suspects as Yuvraj Balasaheb Jamdade (30) of Borate Vasti, Jamkhed in Ahmednagar district and Ishwar Bhau Pachare (24) of Ghodegaon in Jamkhed. “We took the duo into custody,” Dorge said.A case under The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the duo with the Hadapsar police. “There were two men in the car and their movements were suspicious,” Dorge said.He said that the police then searched the car and found over 20kg of marijuana kept in two nylon bags. Assistant inspector of the Hadapsar police K S Londhe is investigating the case. “We are probing from them as to who brought the marijuana and whom them were to sell it,” Dorge said.The investigating team comprised Avinash Shinde, Vishal Shinde, Prafulla Sable, Hemant Waghmare, Mohan Salvi, Manoj Salunke, Amit Chadidar, Mina Pinjan and Hema Dhebe.
