PCMC to set up segregation units for trash

Pimpri Chinchwad: Transfer stations — for segregation of dry and wet garbage — will be developed at various sites under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act. Municipal commissioner Shrawan Hardikar has been authorized to consider the suggestions and objections. A proposal will then be submitted to the civic general body meeting on July 20. The chosen spots include the Kasarwadi sewage treatment plant, the green-belt at Sangvi, a 400sqm plot in Bhosari and another 400sqm area in Pimple Nilakh garden.The municipal corporation’s health department also wants the garbage to be segregated at the household level, and taken to the Moshi garbage depot.Public suggestions and objections are to be invited.
