The girl’s father had lodged a complaint, fearing that his daughter was kidnapped by an unknown person.Under the Indian Penal Code , a man is said to have committed rape if he engaged in sexual intercourse with a minor “with or without her consent”.Additional sessions judge N K Maner found the accused, Ketan Manik Jori, guilty under IPC Section 376 (1) and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which refer to rape and penetrative sexual assault.
