Pune: First edition of the BIMSTEC anti-terror drills concludeSource: TNNThe first edition of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) concluded on 16 September. Contingents from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and Sri Lanka took part in the joint military exercise along with the Indian Army. Various tactical and counter-terrorist drills were performed by the troop in the week-long exercise. The purpose of the exercise was to enhance inter-operatibility and compatibility among the troops. Military officers from Nepal and Thailand were present as observers.
