PUNE: In an effort to spread the Prophet Muhammad’s message of peace and love, Muslims youths in the Camp area will distribute 1,200 kg of motichur laddoos to members of other communities on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad on November 21.“Since the past 12 years, we have been spending Rs 4-5 lakh on decorations and other initiatives for the Eid-e-Milad procession. This year, we have decided to do something different. We have come up with an idea of distributing ladoos to 5,000 people — including local residents, cantonment board employees, other government employees and policemen,” said Mohammad Ali Qureshi, the founder president of Al Quraish Young Circle, a social service organisation. “The ladoos will be packed in attractive boxes and will be distributed in a well-planned way,” he said.Activist Akbar Pathan said, “The distribution of ladoos to public at large will spread the message of maintaining harmony among different communities.”Meanwhile, the Hilal (Seerat) committee has designed special bicycles to raise awareness about the fact that the procession will be taken out between 9am and 2pm.
