Woman held for theft at employer's house in Pune

PUNE: Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch recently arrested a 52-year-old domestic help for stealing valuables from her employers’ house. “We laid a trap and took the woman into custody from her house in Sangvi,” Tangde said.During her questioning the woman admitted her involvement in a theft from a house in Bhosari. The police recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 1.91 lakh from her.A team of crime branch led by senior inspector Uttam Tangde made the arrest. “We have recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 1.66 lakh from her,” Tangde said adding, “In total we have recovered gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs 1.91 lakh from the woman.”The investigating team comprised assistant inspector Ganesh Patil, police constables Kishore Yadav, Raju Kedari, Pramod Lande and Amit Gaikwad “We have recovered a gold chain worth Rs 25,000 from the woman,” Tangde said.He said that during the questioning the woman has also admitted that she had stolen valuables including gold and diamond ornaments from the houses in Sindh colony at Aundh.
