PUNE: A provision of a water tank at Nirgudi village located near Pimpri Chinchwad is set to resolve the water crisis of the village.City MP Anil Shirole, who played an active role to construct a storage tank said that the facility has helped to increase water storage capacity within the limits of village boundary. Villagers would receive an adequate supply of water because of a storage tank, he said.Despite having a river the Nirgudi village located was facing a persistent crisis of potable water. Villagers approached Shirole with a request to look into the issue at earliest. Shirole followed it up with the authorities in Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation. A new water tank has been built in the village for storage of potable water. In a recently held event, the tank was inaugurated in presence of Shirole and other elected representatives from both Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.Shirole said that when it was learnt from villagers that they were facing water crisis, steps were initiated for an urgent solution. After a discussion with Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation commissioner Shravan Hardikar, four tankers of potable waters have been deployed for the village.Water will be stored in the new tank which has been built by PCMC with the help of villagers, Shirole said.
