PUNE: ‘Swarasadhak 2019’, a musical calendar by noted photographer Sateesh Paknikar, will be released on the first day of Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav on December 12.Addressing a news conference on Monday, Paknikar said the calendar has photographs of vocalists from the younger generation.“Numerous geniuses of in the field of Indian classical music have contributed not only towards preserving but also enriching the tradition of classical music. The present generation of artists is taking the legacy forward with untiring efforts. The visual concerts of some such talented musicians is the theme of this year’s calendar,” he said. Paknikar has completed 35 years of attending the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav with his camera. “I have been able to capture thousands of expressions of nearly 500 artists. It is a joyful job. The intention of the calendar is to share this joy,” he said.The calendar will be released by Pandit Basant Kabra, a disciple of late Annapurnadevi, in the presence of executive chairman of Aarya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal Shrinivas Joshi, and a few artists from the calendar pages.
