PUNE: Milind Watve , a senior professor at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, has resigned from his position after making a series of allegations against the institute regarding anti-environment activities on the campus.Watve, who was appointed the chairman of the landscape committee of the institute, claimed “trees were felled without permission”, “untreated sewage was released in spite of having a sewage treatment plant”, “fabricated sewage quality reports were submitted” and “land was being concretized unnecessarily”.Watve said when he brought the indiscretions to the notice of the administration, the allegations were refuted and he was removed from the committee.
