PUNE: Customs officials arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 803kg of marijuana worth Rs 70 lakh in Hadapsar on Wednesday.Babu Singh, a 30-year-old hailing from Rajasthan, and Shailesh Rao a 26-year-old man from Odisha, were produced before a special court on Thursday, which remanded them in judicial custody. They chased the truck in two vehicles to prevent it from escaping.One vehicle overtook the container, while the other followed them. They removed the partition and found a boxlike enclosure containing multiple bags.The officials seized 37 bags, each containing between 20 and 25kg of marijuana. The officials in the leading vehicle intercepted the container, signalled the driver to pull over and stop near a fuel station in Shewalwadi.
