The authorities said if a vehicle remains in the airport for over 3 minutes, the penalty will be four times the entry charge.“People entrusted with the task of collecting the charges from the commercial vehicles entering the facility will be deployed near the airport gate. Those unwilling to pay the charges can ask the vehicles to wait at any of the parking lots in front of the entry and exit gates,” an airport official said on Friday.“There won’t be any charges for other vehicles entering the airport. All these arrangements are part of the new parking policy that will come into effect from April,” the official said.Ola and Uber cabs, which have dedicated parking bays in the airport, will not be charged for entering the facility and pick up passengers. The same condition will also apply for the pre-paid autorickshaws.“Ola and Uber have an agreement with the airport and they will not have to pay the charges. The charges are meant for the passengers who hire commercial vehicles to pick them up from the airport. The officials will keep a close eye on such vehicles entering the airport from April,” the official said.
