PUNE: Unidentified men stole ornaments worth over Rs 12 lakh by breaking locks of a flat at Gururaj Housing Society at Padmavati in Sahakarnagar between February 3 and 12.Flat owner Hemangi Kulkarni (58) has lodged at FIR at Sahakarnagar police on Tuesday night.Kulkarni had gone to stay at the residence of her son Girish at Navi Mumbai for a month on February 3.Police said burglars used sharp objects for breaking the locks of her flat number 7 located on the second floor of B/9 building apartment and stole gold and diamond studded ornaments and silver ornaments worth Rs 12,11,700 by breaking the bedroom cupboard locks and decamped with the booty.The burglary came to light after Kulkarni’s neighbour found her door locks broken and alerted her following which she and her son rushed to Pune and registered the complaint on verifying details of the property stolen.On the progress in investigations, senior inspector Anil Shewale in-charge of the Sahakarnagar police station on Wednesday said,“There are no CCTV cameras at the housing society.
