PUNE: More than 100 passengers, on board an IndiGo flight from Pune to Chennai, stood inside the flight and prayed for the martyred CRPF jawans and their families. The flight was almost full with a seating capacity of around 180 passengers.“The boarding process in the flight was completed by 2.10pm on Sunday and all the passengers were seated, waiting for the flight to take off. Some passengers had seen the newspapers and some of us started a discussion on the terror attack. Many were sad and quite angry about the attack,” Praveen Kumar, a passenger, told TOI.At that point some of them took up the initiative. “We stood up requesting the other passengers too to stand up for a few minutes to pay homage to the jawans and wish for the well-being of their families. All the passengers stood up. For the next few minutes, there was complete silence as everyone prayed. The show of unity was commendable. The flight was on taxi when it happened,” Praveen Kumar added. “The cabin crew too participated and cooperated with the passengers’ feelings,” he told TOI.Like the other cities, Pune also witnessed protests against the terror attack. Several groups offered prayers for the jawans. A candle march was held in the vicinity of the Shaniwarwada.
