Pune: A day after the BJP-Shiv Sena seat-sharing agreement, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday asserted that only the BJP has the capacity to change the face of Pune city.Addressing a meeting of citizens, organised by the party’s Kothrud MLA Medha Kulkarni, the CM appreciated the schemes initiated by her. His praise and attendance at the Kothrud meet assume significance considering the Shiv Sena is set to stake claim to the constituency.Kothrud, which was a Shiv Sena bastion for around two decades, was taken by the BJP in the 2014 assembly elections. Fadnavis, who visited Pune for the first time after the alliance was forged, set the tone for the election campaign in the city. He said the BJP-led state government had boosted development of Pune, which had stagnated in the last 15 years.Meanwhile, a Sena leader from Kothrud said, “Ever since the Kothrud constituency came into being a few decades ago, it was with Sena. It is our natural claim to get it back. We will put it forward at the time of actual seat-sharing talks.”As part of the camp organised by Kulkarni, citizens will be able to get the benefit of schemes related to youth, senior citizens, differently-abled, orphan, women and child welfare scheme. Services such as enrolment for Aadhaar card, voter ID, PAN card will be provided as part of this camp.
