Road digging charges marked down

Road digging for laying cables has been halted over negotiations of rates. Pune: The standing committee of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday pegged the road digging charges at Rs 7,500 per running metre instead of nearly Rs 10,000 per running metre, demanded by the administration. The decision to reduce the prices was taken and a supplementary about it was submitted at the meeting.“The cable companies are not coming forward to accept the price offered by the civic administration. But is not as per the civic administration’s demand,” Yogesh Mulik, chairman of the committee, said. The hike in charges has been allowed.
