The Maval seat was allotted to Shiv Sena under the seat-sharing agreement in 2009 and 2014. tnn Pimpri Chinchwad: BJP corporators met chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on his recent visit to Pune and demanded that the Maval Lok Sabha ticket be given to BJP’s city unit president Laxman Jagtap.Ruling party leader Eknath Pawar said the CM reacted positively to their demand. They further said they would not work for Barne’s campaign, should he get the ticket. “Jagtap has the support of around 50 corporators from Pimpri and Chinchwad assembly constituencies,” he said.A week ago, Pawar and other BJP corporators had submitted a memorandum to Union minister Nitin Gadkari in Chinchwad, demanding that sitting Maval MP Shrirang Barne of Shiv Sena not be nominated from the constituency, as he had criticised the BJP-led state government.
