3 women rescued from ‘massage parlour’, 1 held

NASHIK: The Gangapur police recently arrested a woman from Cidco for allegedly running flesh trade on the pretext of operating a massage parlour in the Gangapur Road area. They sent a decoy customer to the massage parlour late on Tuesday night to verify the information. Police also arrested three persons who had forced the victims into the illegal business. Three women were rescued from the spot and have been lodged at the government’s women’s hostel here.Police said they had received a tip that prostitution was under way in the basement shops of a commercial building. The suspects were running the business on the pretext of doing business related to sarees.Last year on October 31, the Gangapur police had busted a prostitution centre at ST Colony from where they had rescued nine women from Bangladesh, Kolkata and Maharashtra.

On getting a signal from the decoy customer, the raided the place and found that a woman, identified as Jaishree Ahire of Uttam Nagar in Cidco, had forced three women into flesh trade.Police rescued the tree women aged 23, 30 and 32 years old.Police said they were investigating the case to find out for how long Ahire was running the prostitution business. They got two-day custody of the suspect till Friday from a city court.Meanwhile, the rescued women have been rehabilitated at the government women’s hostel on Gangapur Road.This is the second case of a prostitution centre has been busted in the Gangapur Road area.On February 5, the Sarkarwada police had raided a flat in the Old Gangapur Naka area, and rescued three women who were forced into flesh trade. Police also arrested three persons who had forced the victims into the illegal business. The suspects were running the business on the pretext of doing business related to sarees.Last year on October 31, the Gangapur police had busted a prostitution centre at ST Colony from where they had rescued nine women from Bangladesh, Kolkata and Maharashtra.
