Pune Blame it on Jan weather for flight delays

PUNE: More than half of the domestic flights were cancelled and several others delayed across sectors in the country in January because of poor weather conditions, and Pune flyers had their hours of agony too.The Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) domestic air traffic report for January revealed that 50.5% of the flights were cancelled as against 50.7% in August last year.Of January 7, hundreds of flyers to and from the Pune airport were a hassled lot with several flights, mostly on the Delhi and Bengaluru routes, being delayed because of the fog and low visibility in the morning.On January 13 and 14, around 25 flights were delayed at the Pune airport because of the weather conditions.
