PUNE: With three days to go for the last date of voter registrations for Pune and Baramati parliamentary constituencies, the election department is working hard to ensure that all the forms submitted till March 25 are cleared by the election officials.The last date for voters to register in Maval and Shirur parliamentary constituency is March 30.District collector Naval Kishore Ram has instructed the election staff to clear all forms submitted till March 25. “All the forms that come in till Monday for the two constituencies will be processed. We will include all the new voters and there will be no deletions,’’ he told TOI.The election officials said all forms that have been filled correctly will be accepted.The drive has been since last year. By January, the summary revision roll list was out. The addition of names to this list is being carried out separately through a summary roll which would be finalized in the first week of April for all the four constituencies of Pune district The state has four phases of elections and the deadline for voter registration is over for the first two phases while the remaining two phases will be over by the end of March.For the first phase of elections in the state on April 11, the last date for voter registration was March 15 and the final date of finalization of electoral roll is March 29.The second phase of elections will be on April 18 and the the last date for voter registration was March 16 and the finalization of electoral roll will be done on April 1.Pune district’s four parliamentary constituencies will go to the polls in two phases on April 23 and April 29. The last date of voter registration is on March 25 and the finalization of electoral roll for Pune and Baramati constituencies is on April 10 while for the elections on April 29, the last date for voter registration is March 30 and the finalization of electoral roll is on April 14.Photos of dogs, cats and some objects were put up by citizens in the enrolment for new voters by citizens. All such forms were rejected, election officials said. Those who have been processing the forms complained that they were surprised that citizens could upload such photos. “We had to reject the forms. We are surprised by the callous attitude of such citizens,’’ they said.
