Pune: DRI nabs 3 persons with FICN smuggled into country from Bangladesh

Pune, Oct 14 (PTI) Three persons were arrested and fake Indian currency notes (FICN) with a face value of Rs 2 lakh were allegedly seized from them in Pune, an official said. The operation was a joint one between the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and the Pune unit of the Customs on Wednesday, he said. "A DRI team nabbed a motorcyclist coming from Khadki Bazaar lane and going towards Elphinstone Road. We found 400 FICN of Rs 500 denomination, with a face value of Rs 2 lakh. In follow up action, two more persons involved in the supply of this smuggled FICN were held," he said. "A probe has revealed these notes were smuggled into India from Bangladesh. The three have been remanded in judicial custody and further probe into the network was underway," he added. PTI SPK BNM BNM
