Pune woman conned by masseur

Pune, Nov 15 (PTI) A case has been registered against an unidentified person for allegedly stealing gold ornaments worth Rs 70,000 on pretext of giving body massage to a woman in Pune city, police said on Tuesday. According to police officials, an unidentified person posing as a masseur visited the woman"s house at Awhalwadi near the Loni Kand area and offered his services which she accepted. But before starting the massage, the person asked her to remove gold ornaments that she was wearing. The women did as told and the man grabbed a "mangalsutra" (necklace) worth Rs 70,000 and sneaked out of the house, they said. Based on a complaint, the police registered a case against the unidentified person under IPC sections 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating, said the officials.
