The conference was held to inculcate innovations and applications of Internet of Things and Applications for smart city.A statement issued by MITADT said that, nearly 350 research papers were submitted for the conference out of which 125 papers were presented. PUNE: A two day international conference on Internet of Things and Applications for Smart City was organised by MIT Art Design and Technology University (MITADT) in association with Institute for Engineering Research and Publication (IFERP) on April 27 at the Rajbagh Campus of MITADT at Loni Kalbhor. It is the young generation who will bring in more innovative ideas." The conference saw participants from countries like Egypt, Abu Dhabi, Philippines and Saudi Arabia along with participants from all over India.Few topics of the research papers which were presented at the conference included evaluation of air quality parameters in enclosed parking of commercial buildings, joystick controlled wheelchair with automatic speed control, computer assisted electricity saver using machine learning and computer vision, water quality monitoring of Krishna river in the vicinity of Sangli city, driver distraction detection system, automatic detection of landing sites for emergency landing of aircraft, influence of fines and micro fines on properties of concrete, among others.Mangesh Karad, Vice President, MIT Art, Design and Technology University, said in the statement that, "In coming 5-10 years there will be a lot of technological changes in the city as Pune is selected to be developed as a 'smart city'.
