Last month, the company discovered that the app had been hacked because its system started generating unauthorized pop-ups. The company filed an application with the local cyber crime cell.An inquiry revealed that the fraudster had used two mobile phone numbers to download the app and had hacked the system to steal 223 vouchers, which caused a financial loss of Rs97,000. The company then registered a complaint of cheating under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and IT Act with the Chatushrungi police station on July 18.The cell's senior inspector Radhika Phadke said, "During interrogation, Hariharan said that after downloading the app, he had used a third party software to identify its security flaws. He hacked the system, transferred the vouchers and sold them to some persons for a quick buck. We have seized the phones and retrieved the data."
