IIM Raipur welcomes its new batch

Director, IIM Raipur Bharat Bhasker welcomed the new batch, motivating the students to follow their passion and shape their ideas accordingly. The batch profile of IIM Raipur showed a significant improvement by having about 25 per cent female students. With all things in place for the new batch, IIM Raipur is once again all set to groom global leaders for the corporate world and high-quality researcher for the academic world. IIM-R welcomed its ninth batch of the postgraduate programme in management and seventh batch of the fellow programme in management 2018. The first day of orientation programme held recently at IIM Raipur campus saw students and experts from academia breaking the ice and bonding over the coming academic session.

The first day of orientation programme held recently at IIM Raipur campus saw students and experts from academia breaking the ice and bonding over the coming academic session. IIM-R welcomed its ninth batch of the postgraduate programme in management and seventh batch of the fellow programme in management 2018. The event filled new hopes and determinations among the students as they got an opportunity to interact with the academic experts and their seniors. Director, IIM Raipur Bharat Bhasker welcomed the new batch, motivating the students to follow their passion and shape their ideas accordingly. In his inaugural address, he focused on the fact that progress is impossible without change and those who cannot change their mind cannot change anything. He cited examples of the boom in the semiconductor industry in 1960s and also explained Moore’s law of how technology doubles every two years. He further encouraged students to set goals to lead a balanced, successful life and undergo courses that will ignite their passion. Closing his address, he urged the students to imbibe skills to become a great leader by making best use of resources and atmosphere of the institute.The chief guest of event was principal secretary to chief minister Raman Singh , housing and environment, Department of Information & Technology and chairman – New Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) Aman Kumar Singh. The batch profile of IIM Raipur showed a significant improvement by having about 25 per cent female students. This was followed by an address by professor Sumit Gupta, the FPM chairperson who welcomed the 7th batch of FPM students. Describing the profession of teaching, he called upon the new batch of the students to become a role model for society besides exceling in research work. Later, the first half of the session was concluded by an Introduction to the PGP program and the faculty by proffesor PRS Sarma, Chairman PGP.The second day of the orientation programme includes panel discussions to give the flavour of corporate life to the new batch. Eminent personalities from industry have been invited for the program. Also interactions with alumna of IIM’s is scheduled. With all things in place for the new batch, IIM Raipur is once again all set to groom global leaders for the corporate world and high-quality researcher for the academic world.
