RAIPUR: Police have arrested a father-son duo who allegedly performed tantric rituals for over six months to bring the former's dead wife to life without even performing her last rites in Chhattisgarh 's Surajpur district.It was only when the deceased’s brother visited the family that the whole matter came to the light and police were informed on Friday.According to information, 50-year-old Kaleshwari Gond died after prolonged illness in Bishrampur’s Ramnagar village about six months ago. Her husband Shobhnath Singh and son Amrican did not take her death well; and instead of performing her last rites, they decided to bring her back to life through tantric rituals.According to some of the murkier details that have emerged, the duo would bathe the woman’s body every day and perform black magic rituals. This went on for six months and by the time the matter came to notice, the body had decayed and only skeletons were left.Shobhnath and Amrican Singh were arrested and the body was seized after a complaint from the woman’s brother. He said that the father-son duo had not informed of her death on time. He said he had started becoming worried after the family did not maintain any contact with him despite making several calls.The woman’s son had even told him that he was talking to his mother’s soul every day and had dreamt many times that the God promised to send her back to him.
