Ajit Jogi Congress, BSP enter into alliance with Communist Party of India

The regional alliance of Janata Congress-BSP-CPI has projected the Janata Congress supremo, Ajit Jogi , as the chief ministerial candidate. RAIPUR: The Communist Party of India (CPI), will be a part of the Janata Congress Chhattisgarh-Bahujan Samaj Party alliance for the upcoming assembly elections.The Ajit Jogi-Mayawati combine has left two assembly segments in Bastar for the CPI. CPI candidates bagged third position in assembly poll 2013. Jogi will begin his poll campaign from October 20.He will address a public meetings in favour of CPI candidates in Konta (ST) and Dantewada (ST) assembly seats on October 23.

RAIPUR: The Communist Party of India (CPI), will be a part of the Janata Congress Chhattisgarh-Bahujan Samaj Party alliance for the upcoming assembly elections.The Ajit Jogi-Mayawati combine has left two assembly segments in Bastar for the CPI. The regional alliance of Janata Congress-BSP-CPI has projected the Janata Congress supremo, Ajit Jogi , as the chief ministerial candidate. Jogi will begin his poll campaign from October 20.He will address a public meetings in favour of CPI candidates in Konta (ST) and Dantewada (ST) assembly seats on October 23. Jogi told reporters that CPI's decision to enter into a pre-poll alliance with JCC-BSP will definitely strengthen the combine and enhance their prospects in Bastar, Surguja and Bhilai regions. CPI state secretary RDCP Rao was also present at the meeting.Jogi said that CPI already has a strong presence in two assembly segments of Konta (ST) and Dantewada (ST) in Bastar region where the party had won the two seats in 1990 and 1993 assembly election held at the time of undivided Madhya Pradesh.He said CPI candidate from Dantewada assembly segment had secured second position whereas Congress was relegated to third position in the assembly poll 2008. The alliance is aimed to secure the interests of Dalits, backward class, tribal, minorities, and hardworking people, Jogi said.Criticizing Raman Singh government, Jogi alleged the state government's anti-people policies have made life miserable for 50% of population in the state, who have been forced to live below the poverty line.
