Chhattisgarh results: Raman owns moral responsibility of defeat, resigns after BJP debacle

“ We will review the reasons for the defeat and work accordingly to ensure a win in the next elections”.After the defeat, chief minister Raman Singh has submitted his resignation to Governor Anandi Ben Patel. RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh has owned moral responsibility for his party’s humiliating defeat in the assembly elections after his 15-year rule saying that he has tendered his resignation to state Governor.“For 15 years, am thankful people elected us and made me the chief minister. BJP fought the election under my leadership and I take the moral responsibility for the defeat”, he told reporters after the results came into indicating a clear wave in favour of the Congress.“It’s now our turn to discharge the duties of an effective opposition. I hope that the Congress would fulfil its promises made in the election manifesto”, he said.Asked whether this result would impact the coming Lok sabha elections to be held within six months, the chief minister said national election are fought in different agenda including on who is the prime ministerial candidate.
