27-year-old kills mother, drinks her blood in Chhattisgarh

He is on the run.The residents of the village, where the cannibalism took place, said Dilip Yadav practiced Tantra and often spoke of human sacrifice. As she neared the house, she said, she heard strange noises and saw Dilip hacking his mother with an axe.Frozen in horror, Samiran said, she watched Dilip licking the blood. She then saw him take the body inside the house, chop it into pieces and throw them into the fire.

The 27-year-old then chopped her body and burnt the pieces. He is on the run.The residents of the village, where the cannibalism took place, said Dilip Yadav practiced Tantra and often spoke of human sacrifice. He called his mother, Sumariya, a witch and blamed her for the death of his father and brother, the police said.Korba additional SP Jaiprakash Badhai said the eyewitness - Samiran Yadav of Ramkachar village - approached Chaitma police station on Thursday to report the crime. She told the police that she had gone to visit Dilip's mother Sumariya on December 31 morning. As she neared the house, she said, she heard strange noises and saw Dilip hacking his mother with an axe.Frozen in horror, Samiran said, she watched Dilip licking the blood. She then saw him take the body inside the house, chop it into pieces and throw them into the fire. Traumatised, she confided in her son-in-law only two days later. The matter was then discussed with the village head, and reported to the police on Thursday. The police went to Sumariya's house on Friday with a forensic team and found ashes and charred bones. There were blood spatters on the floor and walls. Police also recovered puja items and chunks of human flesh from the spot.
