RAIPUR: The strip-search of Class X students during examination at a Jashpur school has blown into a controversy as National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken cognizance and sought a report while the district education officer ( DEO ) has denied that the tribal girl who committed suicide or other children were strip-searched at all.It is believed that there were efforts being made to hush-up the matter as there were contradictions between statements of two students said on camera and declaration made by the DEO. The students including a girl stated on camera that she was strip-searched on March 1, minutes before examination by flying squad member and except for her bottoms, all clothes were removed including undergarments. On the contrary, DEO stated in a letter addressed to secretary of education department that after enquiring with flying squad, he was told that no strip-search took place. Apparently, no statement of children were recorded.
