Chhattisgarh: RPF inspector shoots at husband inside police station

RAIPUR: A Railway Police Force (RPF) woman inspector shot at her husband with her service revolver late on Sunday inside police station and then attempted suicide by trying to shoot self at a temple in Chhattisgarh 's Balodabazar-Bhatapara district. She immediately took out her service revolver and first shot up in the air and targeted two rounds of fire at her husband. Prima facie indicates that the couple entered into a heated argument over an alleged illegitimate relationship of inspector which infuriated the woman cop to shoot three rounds of fire at her husband. Dipak was, however, rushed to the hospital and was later shifted to Raipur for better treatment. His condition is stable by the doctors.Police said that inspector was arrested under sections of the IPC and Arms Act and was sent to jail by Monday evening.She was posted as RPF inspector in Bhatapara for past one year after being promoted from Raipur while Dipak was posted in electronic department of Railways at Belha.

The man was rushed to a hospital and is stated out of danger.A police official said that RPF inspector posted at Bhatapara railway station identified as Sunita Minj, 39, was on duty on Sunday night when her husband Dipak Srivastava, 42 who is a railway employee came to police station and the duo entered into a heated argument.Dipak suspected that Sunita was having an extramarital affair with another railway employee which often became the reason of quarrel between the two. Moreover, the police official said that the couple married for two years were under stress for not having conceived yet.Police said that Dipak’s questions discomforted the woman cop and she got infuriated for being questioned in front of other staff members. She immediately took out her service revolver and first shot up in the air and targeted two rounds of fire at her husband. The bullets hit on the hips of Dipak and he was left profusely bleeding on the floor.In a fit of rage, Minj tried to shoot self but before she could pull the trigger, the other staff members got hold of her. Dipak was, however, rushed to the hospital and was later shifted to Raipur for better treatment.
