BJP to drop all 10 sitting MPs in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: After its humiliating defeat in the assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party BJP ) is considering to drop all its 10 sitting members of Parliament, including a union minister, to introduce new faces to win maximum seats from Chhattisgarh BJP’s central election committee, which met in New Delhi, decided to introduce all new faces in all the 11 Lok sabha constituencies in Chhattisgarh, BJP incharge for state affairs Anil Jain told reporters in the national capital on Tuesday evening. New candidates will get opportunity to contest the election”, he added.Denial of tickets to all the 10 sitting MPs means that union minister of state for steel and mines Vishnu Deo Sai (Raigarh-ST), former chief minister Raman Singh’s son Abhishek Singh (Rajnandgaon) and BJP veteran and seven time MP and former union minister Ramesh Bais would not get ticket to contest the elections.Senior party sources said when the list of candidates for Chhattisgarh came up for consideration of the central election committee, BJP chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the senior party functionaries to prepare a fresh list of candidates with winning prospects for all the 11 constituencies and submit it by Wednesday morning.BJP, which ruled the state for the last 15 years under the leadership of chief minister Raman Singh , had got a severe drubbing in the last assembly election as only 15 of them could win the election—leading to Congress securing a three fourth majority in the 90 member house by winning 68 seats.
