RAIPUR: The People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), a banned Maoist outfit, has issued an audio statement identifying the four killed in Sukma district on Tuesday as their core members.The secretary of the proscribed organisation, Vikas, demanded a judicial probe into the encounter and alleged that two innocent villages were rounded up by the security forces that was followed by indiscriminate firing, which was later termed as an encounter.On March 26, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel had gunned down four Maoists, including two women cadres, in an encounter in Chintalnar region of Sukma district. The action was taken based on the input received that there was a presence of ultras in Karkanguda region of Chintalnar and a joint team of its Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) along with district force were sent on a special anti-Maoist operation on Monday evening. Following the encounter in Karkanguda village, four Maoists were killed and their bodies were recovered with weapons.Vikas in his audio clip identified the ultras as Jagdeesh, Banjam Guddi, Dudhi Hidma and Mudiyam Sudri - all members of the PLGA. They were all involved in several Maoist attacks and carried a cash reward of Rs 8 lakh on their heads.The Maoist secretary alleged that the security forces had surrounded two camps in Bhimarao and Dummagudamgaon villages and opened indiscriminate fire upon the Maoists. He added that the security forces later cooked it up as an encounter and had also changed the location of the incident."We appeal to the representatives of media and civil rights groups to persuade the government and order a judicial probe into the matter. The newly-elected Bhupesh Baghel government also seems to be following the policies of the previous government since operations have intensified and many innocent tribals are being killed. The government failed to fulfil its promises and the exploitation of innocent people continues," Vikas said.Meanwhile, cops also confirmed the identities of the four Maoists and said that there were information from neighbouring villages that many other ultras were injured in the encounter, who were being treated in the villages.
