RMC awarded for best property tax collection Mayor Aijaz Dhebar holding the coveted nation award. Staff Reporter : RAIPUR Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Suri on Tuesday conferred award to Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) for securing second spot in the list of cities with best property tax collection efforts based on GIS-based survey in nation. The award was presented through a video conferencing. Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar accepted the national award on behalf of the RMC. Its important to mention here that RMC had commenced the GIS-based online system with the financial assistance of MOUD and the World Bank in 2017-18 through Revenue Department when Aijaz Dhebar was the erstwhile Chairman of RMC Revenue Department. At that time RMC Revenue Department with the initiative and relentless efforts of Aijaz Dhebar had implemented the GIS-based online system for property tax collection by the Revenue Department. Union Minister also admired Revenue Department for the drone survey and the GIS-based maps prepared on its basis along with door-to-door survey for property tax collection. On the occasion RMC additional commissioner Pulak Bhattacharya Deputy Commissioner Revenue Arvind Sharma Zone-4 Commissioner R K Dongre Executive Engineer Planning Rajesh Sharma GIS Survey officer in-charge Rajiv Ranjan Data Centre in-charge officer Radheshyam Ekka were also present.
