Vaccination programme is being launched from 97 vaccination centres in State. Five centres selected for vaccination in DurgAs a part of the world's largest vaccination programme in the country corona virus vaccination will also commence in Durg district from January 16. They include District Hospital Durg; Sri Shankaracharya Medical College Junwani; Community Health Centre Patan; Primary Health Centre Nagpura and Urban Primary Health Centre Baikunth Dham where all the preparation for vaccination is complete. Among these 13 centres District Hospital Durg Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Research Centre Sector-9; Sri Shankaracharya Medical College Junwani; Chandulal Chandrakar Medical College Civil Hospital Supela Community Health Centre Patan; Community Health Centre Zhit; Community Health Centre Dhamdha; Community Health Centre Ahiwara; Community Health Centre Kumhari; Community Health Centre Bori; Community Health Centre Nikumbh and Community Health Centre Utai are included. After vaccination a treatment centre has been set up at each vaccination center keeping in mind any adverse reactions.

In the first phase indigenous vaccine Covaxin and Covishield will be administered to priority groups. Over 10527000 people have been infected by the virus in India so far and close to 1.52 lakh have died. In Chhattisgarh the total number of Corona positive patient stands at 2.81 lakh and the death figure is at 3537. On the first day of the launch only a limited number of people will be administered the vaccine. Sanitary worker Tulsa of Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital will get the corona vaccine in the capital along with others on the first day of vaccination launch on Saturday. The launching is being done simultaneously at AIIMS Raipur Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital MMI District Hospital Pandri and Mission Hospital Tilda. Dr Rajendra Parganiha Civil Surgeon Dr P K Gupta and AIIMS Director Dr Nitin M Nagerkar are also in the first list of people to be vaccinated. In this regard District Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure addressing the media workshop at the conference hall of Collectorate on Friday informed that five centres have been selected to vaccinate the Corona Warriors. They include District Hospital Durg; Sri Shankaracharya Medical College Junwani; Community Health Centre Patan; Primary Health Centre Nagpura and Urban Primary Health Centre Baikunth Dham where all the preparation for vaccination is complete. Each centre will have five members which involve verification online registration vaccination officer associate and inspector. While from January 18 to 30 the vaccination procedure to vaccinate Corona Warriors will be done at 13 centres. Vaccination will be done in these centers on Tuesday and Friday and remaining days except government holidays. Among these 13 centres District Hospital Durg Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Research Centre Sector-9; Sri Shankaracharya Medical College Junwani; Chandulal Chandrakar Medical College Civil Hospital Supela Community Health Centre Patan; Community Health Centre Zhit; Community Health Centre Dhamdha; Community Health Centre Ahiwara; Community Health Centre Kumhari; Community Health Centre Bori; Community Health Centre Nikumbh and Community Health Centre Utai are included. After vaccination a treatment centre has been set up at each vaccination center keeping in mind any adverse reactions. Duty of doctors has been imposed in all these centres. After vaccination each person will be kept in observation for half an hour. If no side effect is seen in any way the person can go home. Dr Bhure said that a total of 10260 dose vaccines are available in Durg district. The vaccine is completely safe. There are two doses of vaccination. Each dose of vaccine will be given in a gap of 28 days. Initially the corona warriors are being vaccinated. There is no instruction from the Government of India regarding the vaccination of common people.
