RAIPUR: Keeping in view the surge in number of coronavirus cases in Bilaspur, the district hospital will get 50 more oxygen-equipped beds. As per data released by health department late on Wednesday,Bilaspur, so far, has reported 33,336, while total number of active cases stand at 7,829.

District collector Saransh Mittar on Thursday visited the hospital to inspect the ongoing preparations and instructed the officials concerned including CMHO to ensure completion of the set up and commencement of service within 48 hours. The officials informed that district Covid hospital currently has 100 oxygen supported beds for treatment of Covid patients. Keeping in view the current situation and need, 50 more oxygen supported beds are being increased in the third floor of dedicated Covid Hospital. The preparations of the same are in the final stage.

The district collector inspected hospital premises and inquired about all the facilities including hygiene, oxygen pipeline. The collector also inspected the oxygen plant at the District Hospital. Chief Medical Officer Dr Mahajan informed the collector about the present capacity of the oxygen plant. The collector expressed satisfaction over the oxygen supply facilities in the hospital and also inquired about refilling and backup of the oxygen cylinders.

Meanwhile, the district collector also visited the city to review the day-two of the lockdown. He said that during the inspection it was found that people are following the rules and are only stepping out only in case of emergency.
