Fire breaks out at hospital four COVID patients killedStaff Reporter :RAIPURAt least four corona positive patients died after a fire broke out at COVID-19 ward of city-based private hospital on Saturday. “A fire broke out in the COVID ward of Rajdhani Hospital located at Pachpedi Naka under Tikrapara police station claimed three lives. SHO Mishra further informed that all the deceased were COVID positive patients. Terming the incident as unfortunate Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has expressed his deepest condolences to the family members of the bereaved family. CM Baghel has also announced ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the family members of patients who died in the mishap.

Fire breaks out at hospital four COVID patients killed Staff Reporter : RAIPUR At least four corona positive patients died after a fire broke out at COVID-19 ward of city-based private hospital on Saturday. The fire mishap not only exposed the safety arrangements available in the private hospital here but also highlighted the real-time preparedness of the medical unit in dealing with such an emergency situation. “A fire broke out in the COVID ward of Rajdhani Hospital located at Pachpedi Naka under Tikrapara police station claimed three lives. The fire which broke at around 4:30 pm has been brought under control by the firefighters in around 20 minutes and patients were rescued safely” said Tikrapara Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjeev Mishra. Prompt action taken by police and firefighters averted a major tragedy as 30 patients were present in the ward at the time of the incident added the SHO. SHO Mishra further informed that all the deceased were COVID positive patients. Of three persons died in the fire mishap one was charred to death while another killed as oxygen supply to him was interrupted after the incident. Prima-facie investigation indicates that short-circuit in the ward led to the tragic mishap but exact cause is still unknown. After being informed about the fire incident in Rajdhani Hospital police alerted the firefighters and rushed to the spot for undertaking rescue exercise said SHO Mishra elaborating that it takes around 20 minutes to control the fire. In the wake of the mishap senior police officials and officers from the District Administration rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. Terming the incident as unfortunate Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has expressed his deepest condolences to the family members of the bereaved family. CM Baghel has also announced ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the family members of patients who died in the mishap.
