While on its first day 1,945 people were vaccinated at 113 sites on Saturday. Except Bemetara, vaccination was held in all other 27 districts. Highest turnout of 384 was reported from the naxal-affected and tribal dominated Bastar district and lowest turn of 23 people was reported from Narayanpur. While Raipur reported vaccination of 80 people on Sunday. On its first day, Durg reported the highest turnout of 199 people followed by 196 in Dhamtari and Raipur reported vaccination of 124 people on Saturday.

As per reports, due to protocol of vaccinating first to Antodaya cardholders then to BPL and APL respectively, vaccination was declined to several people of other categories therefore, the lowest turnout of two was reported from Rajnandgaon. Meanwhile, in Chhattisgarh a total of 55,71,428 people have been vaccinated in the last four months.
State health officials said as per briefing issued by the Government of India, Chhattisgarh state is the first in the country to administer 73% first doses of Covid-19 vaccine to people above 45 years of age.
The state is second in terms of immunization of health workers with 97.73% coverage. In the category of frontline workers Chhattisgarh is at sixth position in the country. While a daily caseload of 15,902 Covid patients were diagnosed on Saturday increasing the cumulative tally to 7,44,602 and active tally to 1,21,099 in Chhattisgarh. While with recovery of 12,508 patients on same day state’s tally of recovery figures has increased to 6,14,693. With 229 death the death toll has increased to 8,810.
1,464 new cases were reported in Raipur where the active tally has increased to 10,672 while 41 people succumbed to the virus on Saturday. In Durg, 1,029 cases were reported increasing the tally of active cases to 1403 and 16 people lost their lives. Bilaspur reported 1290 patients increasing the active cases to 7589. Rajnandgaon reported 679 new cases with 8,002 active cases, Raigarh 1075 news cases with 10313 active cases, Korba, 1,228 new cases and 8,548 active cases. The lowest 30 patients were reported in Chhattisgarh`s Bijapur district, where there are 164 active patients. On an average 450 cases are reported from other districts.
