Similarly voluntary organisations have also been requested to extend all possible help to make the lockdown success and help break the corona chain. Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Saurabh Kumar was also present in the meeting.

Staff Reporter : Raipur A Day before the imposition of third lockdown in Raipur district from May 6 District Collector Dr S Bharathi Dasan and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav held a joint meeting of Revenue Police and Municipal Corporation officials in the war room here on Wednesday. The Collector and the SSP appealed the people and traders community to adhere to the containment zone rules. It is to be mentioned that the third lockdown in the district will come into effect with some relaxations such as opening of grocery shops in the colonies. They appealed to follow social distancing. Collector and senior police officers have specifically urged the officials of the traders and their organisations to open only those shops which are exempted from restrictions. If the market is overcrowded then its consequences will have negative impact on the ongoing fight against corona they said. Eight joint teams of Revenue Police Municipal Corporation and Food Department have been formed for Raipur city. Incident commander CSP and Naib Tehsildar and officers of the Fertiliser Department will also be in the team. This team will visit all the major markets from 6 am Thursday onwards and ensure that only shops coming under exemptions from Covid guidelines are opened. Quick action will be taken by the team on the shops violating the instructions of the Containment Zone and strict action like sealing such shops for 30 days will also be taken at the same time. The Collector asked the officials of the Municipal Corporation and the Police Department to discuss with the heads of the trader organisations of the big markets and urge them to cooperate in following the instructions of Containment Zone. Similarly voluntary organisations have also been requested to extend all possible help to make the lockdown success and help break the corona chain. Citizens have also been appealed not to roam on the streets or markets unnecessarily. Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Saurabh Kumar was also present in the meeting. It is noteworthy that under the Code of Criminal Procedure Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Act orders have been issued to make the entire area of Raipur district a containment zone till 6 am on May 17. During this period all the boundaries of the district will remain completely sealed. Under it where many activities have been completely banned conditional permission has been given to conduct some activities.
