Traffic police seize 18 motorbikes for bike stunt modifying over speeding The motorbikes seised during a special drive in Bhilai. Staff Reporter : BHILAI TRAFFIC POLICE have launched a special drive to curb increasing nuisance of bike stunt modifying and bike racing while over speeding at Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) Township roads in Bhilai. While undertaking the special drive police seized as many as 18 motorbikes and initiated due legal action in the matter. Kavilas Tandon ASP (Traffic) informed that over few weeks the complaints were pouring in regarding increasing nuisance of bike stunt and bike racing while over speeding and endangering life of unsuspecting commuters. There were also reports of mishaps causing serious injuries and the measures were initiated in this regard while undertaking a special drive for effectively checking such nuisances. As part of special measures traffic police deputized teams in different locations within Bhilai Nagar Newai and Bhatti police stations limits and recorded all details regarding bikers indulging in such practices. The teams have challaned the bikes at Central Avenue Civic Center and in other locations for flouting traffic regulations. The drive would be continued in days to come and traffic police are initiating strict action in each such case. ASP Tandon appealed parents for discouraging their wards from over speeding modification and bike stunts while risking own life and also endangering life of commuters at roads. He also added that the parents could also be prosecuted in case of minors indulging in such activities and in spite of knowledge they remain ignorant turning nelsons eye.
